PROJECT AT A GLANCE
3740 North Halsted is designed to be a 15-story apartment building featuring 269 units, 3 levels of parking, an outdoor terrace with pool and hot tub, green roof, an indoor amenity space complete with a demonstration kitchen, a lounge, fitness center and 11,000sf of retail space at the ground level. In addition, the building will pursue LEED certification.


CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
The week of December 10th, we will begin installing the building’s caisson foundation system. Caissons are constructed by placing concrete and reinforcing steel into a shaft drilled into the ground. This process, which is widely used in the construction of high-rise structures, will allow for the foundation to support high, concentrated loads. This is an important, and sometimes noisy, part of the project.   Additionally, fencing is being installed around the site to ensure the construction area is safely separated from the general public.  This will included closing the sidewalks and parking lanes bordering the site along Halsted and Bradley Streets.  These sidewalks and parking lanes will remain closed for the duration of the project.  Pedestrians will
be redirected across Halsted and Bradley Streets to the east and south sides, respectively.
